It will also be home to the Cíes Publishing House, a pioneer in introducing the paperback novel format in 1945 and an innovative distribution system that allowed readers to return to the newsstand, once read, the copies of around 5 pesetas of the time, thus obtaining a discount on the next purchase.

Writers such as Fidel Prado or Marcial Lafuente Estefanía, as well as a young Corín Tellado, who published her first novels here, were its most prominent figures.

The passing of the building into the hands of a family of Indians, who used some floors to accommodate people who came from abroad, some families coming to settle in rooms or others being rented by the hour, constitutes another stage, of which we still have exciting testimonies, which precedes the subsequent disuse and abandonment into which Casa MIMOSA fell. deteriorating, due to the difficulty of the property in facing a complex and expensive restoration.
